The Next Move.

Writer: Dustye Beecher Dustye Beecher

Yeah, so I almost quit this recently. And I do mean all of it! Sadly and most importantly I almost quit my Hope. We have all seen the horrors happening in this world as of late. I've had old friends pass away from murder and drunk driving. Reading about yet another vet with PTS not getting the help they needed, ending in some of the absolute worst outcomes that they could have. The list goes on and on.

All of these things and then add Covid-19 and so many other innocent people being attacked or worse for basic human rights. I see people on social media wishing cancer, rape, even murder onto others. And let me tell you my little pregnant, extra hormone pumping self had no mental capacity to take any of those things in.

My income is based on social media, even so I was ready to delete it all and just be done. We make enough for me to be a fulltime mom come September, so why not?! Then I saw a sign (on a picture) in a boutique that I shop at from home. It was something that my home church says quite often that has always just been something we said . Until I haven't heard it in over a year, until that wasn't just something you called out with the Pastor when you knew it was coming up in the service.

He always said "Make a life, Make a living, Make a Difference", and I loved the way it sounded, it made sense. Yet in this world today, with my real world glasses on, no privilege blinders up, it meant something completely different to me today. The life we create is more than the job or family, the living is more than the income and the difference is more than just scripture! It's time your life reflected a giving soul, you should be living the life that reflects your Sunday best not your Facebook posts! Most of all you should be a difference maker, you should be showing love and compassion when it's hardest for you to do just that. If you are only showing love when it is convenient for you then you aren't making a difference you're being a mirror to those around you. Show love and be kind when it's the last thing you want to do. That's the only way we will ever truly make a difference.

So yeah I almost quit, ready to give up on humanity, and say forget it! But I remembered that there is always hope for humanity if you're ready to show kindness and love. I hope that you all find new ways to spread kindness, creating a more positive world for future generations. So Ive challenged myself, and I’ll challenge you too. Find a way to spread kindness. What’s your next move to make a better world?
